I was almost scammed, very very close to this one , they asked me to put a decal advertising water on my car, they then mailed me a check for around 2400.00 told me to deposit it, keep 500. For myself then the rest give to the guy that brings the sticker over, also they said make sure you call when you deposit the check, I took it up the bank and asked a manager friend of mine, she looked at it and said never ever cash a check like this. Scammer used the name John Gideon from New Jersey and sent the consumer a fake check for over $2,000 and told consumer that $500 was theirs to keep, and the remaining amount was to go have the car wrapped with logo. The check mailed to consumer had a business name on it of Leone Huffman & Associates in Carlsbad, CA. 760-931-9973. Consumer called this accounting firm and they told consumer that check was fake.
