My friend was looking for models for a photoshoot for Capitol Records to refer because the scammer promised a larger wage if a person referred 3 people. She gave him my number and he called me a few days later going over details of the photoshoot and asked if we could meet for headshots the same day, claiming that I’d make $300 that day for just the headshots alone. We met at a park, went over the contract he had emailed me and had me sign using the app Sign Now. We then took the photos. Afterwards, we went to chase to deposit the money into my account. However, the check was for $950 instead of $300. He claimed it was so that the bank would be identify large sums more quickly and not hold money when processing, but that I’d have to take out $400 cash after depositing then give the rest of the $650 in another form when the check processes. After depositing the check, he took the receipt and had me purchase 8 personal checks and then withdraw the $400. He then proceeded to tell me about the photoshoot dates and said there was another shoot that I might be interested in for a lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty. We planned to meet later at Hungtington Beach to do photos for that particular content. After the shoot, we went to the bank to deposit $1750. The checks haven’t processed through and also upon seeing the checks on my account, the checks claim to be from Vicky Padilla who was never previously mentioned between me and the scammer. All I know about the scammer is that his Instagram name is @flipset_richland and that he drives an old black mercedes.
