I received a check which looked like it was from CapitalOne bank. I called the bank to verify that they sent a check to me and tell me what it was for. The bank's customer service rep verified that they did not send a check and if they had, it would have been in my husband's name, not mine, as he is the primary name on the account. There was no account in my name only. In addition, the name they used is different from what I use on my CapitalOne account.

I am going to mail the suspect check and accompanying information to the bank, as they suggested. I am also putting this notice on the ScamPulse.com website to alert others.
