My fiance and I received a call from an "Evelyn Dixon " she advised us that I was going to be sued or see jail time if I did not settle my debt immediately. I was told it was from 2012 while I lived in Florida, little did she know I had been living in California since 2011. She also said it was from a chase bank loan. I never had a chase bank nor take a loan out. She continued to call consistently with threats of lawsuits and jail time and was very convincing as well. My fianceé was so worried and tried to help by making a payment of $85. The total amount was $500. While my fianceé was on her way to the bank Me. Dixon called her 4 times in a period of approximately 15 minutes. She was very persistent and wanted the payment immediately. She claimed that she tried to charge my card 3 times and not the court was upset and didn't want to work with us anymore for the delay. So my fianceé said "well we are trying to pay the debt so they are not going to take our money?" She said that the court feels that we are not trying to pay so they asked for someone else to use their debit card. We refused and at the end still charged my fianceé $85. By this time we were convinced something wasn't right. So we researched with the BBB and saw that every tactic she used was indeed a sign of fraud. My fianceé called her back to get information from her so that we can report them. She refused to give their address due to safety reasons. My fianceé advised her that we no longer will make any payment and me Dixon replied well your his woman but only he make that change. I was surprised because she didn't have a problem taking my fianceé money when trying to make the payment. I returned the call to ms Dixon to tell her myself that we will no longer pay and advised me that she will take it from my fianceé accou t if I didn't pay. In addition she also she I had another outstanding debt from yet ANOTHER loan that I never took out also in the amount of $600. These loans happened in Florida according to her, whilst I lived in California. Now she is threatning to sue or jail time for not compiling or paying. She also said she was going to call other relatives to collect the money. At this point we cat get her off our backs. I know what I owe and I check my credit history regularly. Neither of these balances or on my credit history after 6 years. Please help!
