I was the victim of a credit card scam that I later on found that it was a cover up for auto loan inquiries. I did a credit repair a few years ago in which 3 credit cards were removed from my credit history. I received a summons from local county clerk for the credit cards that came on regular copy paper with lines drawn as if someone else’s name was replaced with mine. When I questioned about them I was told that they were legit. I knew it wasn’t but I was afraid they would try to garnish my check. I started paying for them. The amounts of the cards were much higher than I remembered. After a whole lot of research, they were. My credit score dropped even after the cards were removed from my credit history. I later found out about the auto loan inquiries of which neither of my cars are financed with.
