Cape Cod Ranch Reports & Reviews (13)

Wife found a Percheon named Jackpot. Called and made appointment to fly out and see him. Booker said we could meet Friday but would need a deposit of $2200 for the $8500 horse. Incredible website and videos. As soon as we wired the money and sent confirmation of payment to a bank in San Francisco he suddenly had a family emergency and was a dedicated family man and couldn't meet. Immediately hung up and no more response. We reported to the FBI internet fraud division and Placerville Co sheriff. Sheriff office said they had never heard of Capcom Ranch. Totally scammed.
Out $2200.

I found a horse at Cape Code Ranch and emailed Howard Booker. They sent pictures and videos of a horse I wanted to purchase. I said I wanted to fly out to Placerville, Florida to see the horse. They demanded a $2,200 deposit to reserve the horse. After sending the deposit, I asked for the address and they stated they had an emergency and could not meet us. This is a scam. They do not exist and the website needs to be pulled down. Please work with the authorities to track these people down and shut the fake scam down.

I was searching online to buy horses and came across Cape Cod Ranch. I was immediately in love and thought this is way too good to be true, and I was right. After texting back and forth, trying to set up a time to meet, he told me that I would need $2500 as a deposit before seeing the horse since he was super busy and all the horses would be gone if I hadn’t and he could accept that through Zelle, Venmo, Walmart Gift Cards, Bitcoin, etc. That’s when I tried doing a little more research about this “Cape Cod Ranch,” and sure enough I came across this website where I realized they really are a SCAM!

DO NOT TRUST CAPE COD RANCH. They are a huge scam and I would hate for people to fall for it like I almost did!

Be safe out there people and remember, if it seems too good to be true, IT IS.

Also wanted to purchase a blue roan "allen" and mule "Lucky" and once i said i would come out and meet the horses and pay cash, Mr.Booker ssaid i had to make my deposit now over bitcoin or walmart gift card, now who uses walmart gift card for horse purchase. he then said the horses would be sold immediately today if he did not get money that he had others wanting them. I wished him best with his scam of deposits and no horses. This man needs to be arrested.

Online Scam

I emailed regarding a blue roan gelding (the website showed several) I asked a couple of questions about the horse and the change of climate if I bought from Ca and had him shipped to PNW. He answered with 4 emails with video of the roans and asked ME where I lived to figure out shipping. When I asked the questions again he still didn’t answer but wanted my address. I told him I wasn’t ready yet and then today I emailed and said I would be in Placerville this weekend and wanted to meet the horse. He answered that he would not be available unless I put a $2500 deposit down as there were lots of buyers and it’s first come first serve. What a scam!

Horse is on a different site and five years older. No longer even for sale. Complete scam. Won’t answer phone. Too good to be true because it is!

Capecodranch.com is a scam. They try to sell you on the idea of buying a horse site unseen because they are just THAT fantastic, and the most perfect horse you could dream of. If you wish to see the horse in person first they require a $3000 deposit. These people are scammers and have a website that looks legitimate, but it a complete bogus scam.

This website has a ton of beautiful horses that are "perfect". They are way underpriced for the description and way too good to be true.
I sent an inquiry about a specific horse and they emailed me with the correct horse name, but an entirely different horse that did not match my detailed inquiry at all. They encourage you to buy their horses "sight unseen" with a "30 day guarantee". They want you to send money in all kinds of forms (bitcoin, gift cards, etc.) before your horse is "shipped".
This is a complete scam and the website needs to be removed before anyone loses more large sums of money.

They tried to get me to send $2500 in bitcoin or Amazon or Walmart gift card before any radiographs or vet checks would be sent. I did send them Amazon gift card but purchased with MC. They could not get the cash from the card so asked me to take cash to Walmart get gift cards, give them the number off the gift card, oh and keep receipt in case we changed our minds". I asked them what time is was in CA and what they told me was only 2 hours from where I was calling. I immediately cancelled by Amazon cards and am asking them to send me a timestamp video of the horse I wanted to purchase, but they "do not know how to do that".

Takes photos and videos (some including minors) and information of horses or used tack from owners and other websites to get money from customers seeking to buy online. The screenshot below of an email sent to my father is (aside from specific horse info like name, height, breed, etc) word for word exactly the same as other email screenshots posted by others on Facebook.

Site steals videos used at horse auctions advertising them as their own horses. If you inquire for details using their site they try to get you to pay bit coin to their account saying the horse may sell before you get a chance to look at it. Wont talk on phone. Text and email only. Site pops up when looking for horses for sale.

This person has set up a fake website under the name Cape Cod Ranch in Placerville, CA. They claim to sell horses. The horses are too good to be true, and way underpriced. They have stolen videos and pictures of real horses for sale elsewhere. Several videos are of horses that are located in Texas. They claim to be Howard Booker, but the payment info is under Fula Booker. The website has the email address [email protected]. The PayPal email address is [email protected]. The email address that they use to send info about horses is [email protected]. I verified with the person and their account is in Placerville with Wells Fargo bank. They asked to be sent $2500 to be able to fly out and ride the horse (the payment will go toward the horse, of course). They refused to FaceTime or answer the phone. Several people are interested in the horse, so you must put a deposit NOW. They give the option of using Zelle or PayPal, but if you use PayPal you MUST click "friends and family". In my case, they would have taken $10,000 for 2 horses, and an additional $1300 for "delivery".
