Received a call from a woman who claimed to be an cic officer. She spoke to me in punjabi/hindi and knew my name and told me I would be arrested if i didn't pay a certain amount of money or worse, I would be deported although I am a Canadian citizen. All of this due to a missing document when I acquired my citizenship. When I asked more about this situation, she transferred my call to a man who claimed to be a RCMP officer who was coming over to arrest me. At this point, I confronted them and told them to stop trying to scam me since they said they were from Ottawa, however, the area code of the call was from Ontario. The person who claimed to be an RCMP officer began swearing in Punjabi/Hindi. I hung up. Also, both individuals on the phone had an indian accent.
