I don't know whether this was a scam or not. Only time will tell. The foreign-sounding woman sounded like she was having trouble hearing me and I answered "Yes" to one of her attempts. She asked whether I had received my letter from the Canadian Energy Rebate Benefit. I said "No". She thanked me and hung up. I've since learned about what is sometimes called the "Can you hear me" scam where they capture your voice saying "yes" and "no" then use it to fabricate your responding to receive a product or something then send you an invoice or late payment notice demanding payment. No product is ever received. They use my voice recording clips to bolster their claim.

I really don't know what to do about this except wait and see. I'm putting this here to document my belief that I might have been scammed. The call took place October 7, 2020.
