Can You Here Me Scam Reports & Reviews (3)

Scammer said, "Can you hear me? I'm having trouble with my bluetooth. Wait a second," then hung up. Reading Reddit posts, this has happened to many others, especially in the past couple of weeks. I did not say anything after I first answered, "hello," but it looks like others responded "yes" to the question of "Can you hear me?" which is what the caller is likely after. It appears to be a recorded call to try to capture your voice saying "yes" so it can be used for other purposes, such as purchase verifications and otherwise via phone.

This is the can you hear me was called and a recorded message, a woman's voice, announced she was from a company, I didn't catch the name. She at the end asked if I could hear her OK. I hung up and didn'tsay anything.

- Lexington, MA, USA

I received a phone call and the automated service said "Hi this is [name] from customer service, can you hear me?" to which I answered "Yes". It then continued to offer prizes such as a trip to Disney. I have read that they want you just to say "yes" so that they can say you agreed to what they were offering later.
