Camera Repair Center is a scam! They use bait & switch tactics, fraud, and extortion. These guys lure customers in with a fancy website, promises of quick turnaround times, and low estimates which they are quick to respond back to you with to attract you. As soon as you ship them your camera or lens, the scam begins. They had our lens for 2 weeks when I finally asked them the status of the repair. They doubled their estimate (every complaint on ScamPulse.com says that) based on "newly discovered" issues, which weren't even remotely true for our lens. That is the fraud that they commit against every customer. If you pay them to "repair" it, there are reports of people receiving a different model purchased on eBay (they illegally put that in their Terms and Conditions to try to give themselves a loophole!*), or the gear won't have the issues fixed and might even have new issues. If you refuse the estimate, then they try to stick you with a $35 inspection fee and a return shipping charge of $29, which they cite their Terms* again for. They're currently holding our lens hostage with this extortion scheme because I won't pay their ransom (they've had our lens 3 weeks without initiating any communication with us, just giving us the fraudulent estimate when we asked but not answering any other questions). They never answer their phone. We asked them by email to explain what's wrong with the parts they named, one of which isn't even a real lens part (there’s no such thing as a “mounted holder main frame” in a lens), or just document what's wrong, but they refuse to talk with us about it. It's apparent that this is some illegal operation. They've probably defrauded 1,000's of unsuspecting people like this.

**Their Terms and Conditions are voided because they put several illegal conditions in them, including a claim that if your gear is in their shop for 30 days that it becomes theirs, which would constitute theft, which is illegal and thus voids the Terms, along with the illegality of keeping people's electronics and replacing them with cheap used replacements purchased on eBay (also listed as a condition in their Terms), and the mentioning of possible higher estimates in the Terms doesn't allow for the pattern seen of them making up fraudulent damages for every customer.
