I received a call from someone claiming to be with California Mortgage in Los Angeles, CA. He said his number is 213-497-6325 but my caller ID showed 510-031-2198 and when he called again 510-370-1876 which is San Francisco area code. He said the federal government is offering a relief program to reduce mortgage interest rates to 1.6% for the remaining life of my mortgage. The caller said this is not a refinance, its the government assisting in lowering monthly payments. He told me my payment would be reduced to $785 per month. I didn't give him a chance to ask for any information about me. This sounds to good to be true. I believe its a scam.
