After reaching out for a job offer, I was “hired” and sent a check meant to be deposited into my account and used towards the purchase of work equipment. I noticed that this could be a scam when I was asked to convert the funds to bitcoin and advised against standard banking practices I knew to be true in an attempt to get the funds same day.
