Like the others, I received a fake check ($2390.73) and told to purchase $2000 worth of American Express gift cards. The company @bykshopper.com looks legit - it isn't. The give away that it's a scam - is to take pictures of the cards without the security label and send them by text to the scammer. It takes a minimum of 3 days to clear a check, and they wanted the card info in 1. I don't think so.

I received a letter on American Express letterhead from BYK Shopper offering me a position as a secret shopper. The assignment breakdown was for me to deposit the check and take out $265.00 for myself and a $30 cashiers check to the Red Cross, shop 45 dollars in groceries, purchase 4 - $500 American Express gift cards. I was to take pictures of the cards front and back.
I waited for the check to clear it cleared the next day but 4 days later I was hit with a $12 charge for a fraudulent check.
They followed up with an a text message on 10/30/2020 reminding me of my assignment. They have a link for BBB.org on their website and make it look like

I was sent a check for $2,390.73. I’m suppose to deposit check into my personal bank account because I’m hired as a mystery shopper. I’m suppose to follow the instructions giving with check. Wasn’t sure about details so i call this 313 area code number which is a Detroit number. A guy with a accent calls me back giving me instructions on depositing the check which he also emails instructions. It was the obvious by this time to me it wasn’t legit after seeing the ScamPulse.com logo on their site but i couldn’t find them actually accredited with ScamPulse.com when I put there name in on ScamPulse.com search engine. I’m assuming they also were after my personal info connected to my bank account once I deposited the check into it.

Today, I received a 'provisional assignment' to conduct mystery shops. I've conducted mystery shops in the past but have never received payment up front. Along with the 'provisional assignment', I received a cashier's check in the amount of $2390.73. Needless to say, after doing a reverse search of the phone number provided in the search I learned that others have also received the scamming materials.
