I was contacted directly thru indeed.jobs regarding my resume in which they wanted to interview me for a personal assistant job in the downtown area of South Florida. I responded via email to advise I would be available the following week at which point we interviewed a few days later via telephone. On Wed 1/30/19 I received an email advising I was selected for the job. The person phoned a few days later to advise me of my duties and next steps. He advised I would be receiving the keys to the new lease location of where out office would be and I would set up the place with supplies and equipment needed to run the opening on 2/18/19. He also advised he would be sending me a check for $5000 in which I would use to pay for all these supplies for the new office. It sounded too good to be true. He also advised I would be getting paid starting on 2/8/19 as I would be shopping and would be getting paid for my services before my actual start date. During the interview I did ask many questions which he could answer without hesitation, but when I asked if he did a background check he said yes and I thought how can he if he did not have my personal SS# which they do not have; however he answered YES they did one, which was another red flag. On Monday I did receive a UPS express envelope as he stated I would get but I did not open it. This is a scam and this job offer is a fraud. I am being taken advantage of while looking for employment.
