We received a telephone call from "Business Search Online" at (631)492-1460 ext 101 claiming that we owed them $1,495 + interest for an advertising contract that expired almost a year ago. The phone agent was very pushy. She e-mailed an invoice that was clearly created on a word processing program, not accounting software. She also e-mailed a "Online Advertising Authorization Form" us asking for our credit card information. When we called to ask for a copy of the contract that we had signed authorizing the advertising, the agent claimed that it was archived with old records, and that she would have to do some digging for it. We had never received an invoice from them, and she feigned surprise and said she would "have to contact the agent". The person who called claimed that her name was Elizabeth Moore.
