I was first contacted by Kevin Bergman, who said he represented the Pre Legal Dept. of a company called Business Online Advertising. I usually do not accept any calls out of my area code. This was a 302 area code number. He left a voicemail. He then called multiple times in consecutive days. He sent me a fax invoice along with an email invoice. Interestingly, the email invoice could not be downloaded. That alerted my suspicious mind. I printed the invoice and then scanned and saved so I could share it with authorities. I have called him and he said that our account which was started in 2018, has not been paid and is past due 188 days. He told me if the account balance was not paid in full ($2895.96) that the account would remain open and would still accrue charges. I said there is absolutely no way we could ever pay that amount, could payments be worked out? He said payment had to be in full. I told him we had not gone after any kind of online advertising for the past 2 years, as we are looking to retire. (I had even dropped my online account with The Real Yellow Pages) I told him I would contact the BBB, The Federal Trade Commission and he said, "You can even contact the White House if you want". I told him he didn't have to be sarcastic! I am including emails, and the invoice. He said I have until 10/18/19 or this would be sent over to a 3rd Party Collections. He has continued to send a morning and afternoon email along with calling morning and in the afternoon. I have blocked my cell, but he still leaves voicemail. I am trying to see how to save a voicemail and send it to the BBB.

This scammer initially sent an invoice for Business Online Advertising that we never had contracted them for, nor had we ever spoken to them. After we didn't pay the invoice they continued to call us to warn of turning us over to Federal Credit Bureau Equifax and TransUnion as a bad debt. Also said the account is still active and will automatically renew for 2019-2020. Then also sent fax invoice for $5995.88
