A woman reached out to me through Facebook messenger saying she had some french bulldog puppies. She asked for a deposit and I said not until I saw the puppy. She sent a video of her and her children with the dogs and said in the video that she intends to find these dogs the best homes. I paid 500 for the pet deposit fee and she sent me the documentation for the animals change of ownership. I got suspicious as soon as I saw the papers had two different birth dates. She tried to play it off as if it was an accident. I looked up her name on the french bulldogs of rhode island group and found out she has scammed over 40 members by facetiming and promising a puppy. She then never shows up with the puppy and blocks the individuals on social media. She uses her kids and FaceTiming with individuals to build a false sense of trust and then leaves with hopefuls money.
