On May 19,2019 I called budget car rentals to rent a car. I give the representative all of my information for the car rental. After taking all of my information over the phone I then was given a price of $313.01 for the rental car for 3 days. The representative collected my information for the payment. I give him my debit card information and he informed me that the location where the car is located closed at 12:00. I then went to the car rental location to pick up the car. Upon arriving to the budget location I was informed that I had to do a credit check because I used a debit card. My money was already taken over the phone by the phone representative. The representative at the rental location asked me did they tell me the process of renting the car. I said no because no one said it was a process you must go through to rent a car. I said ok to the credit check because the phone representative had already taken my money. After conducting the credit check the representative said I did not pass it. She said to call the 1 800 to get my money back. I call the 1 800 number and I spoke to several people. I was informed by the representatives My money would not be refunded that day. I told them I needed my money back that same day. They told me it would take 3 to 5 business for a refund. This was a Sunday and the car rental locations that is open on Sunday, they close early. I was put a disadvantage situation, because they took my money and would not give it back. I had to get more money to try and find a car. Today is May 31, 2019 and budget car rental still has not refunded my money. I called them Tuesday May 28, 2019 to inquire about my money the representative said I would get my money that day. Budget car rental should not be allowed to take peoples money then conduct a credit check. After doing so they keep peoples money for a long duration of time. I would like my money back. They really cause me an inconvenience because I had to pull money from other places to pay for another rental car. I was very upset because I had to have a car that day or we would not have made it to my granddaughter's graduation. The representative also informed me that Budget does this to a lot of people.
