These people impersonated a real school in the UK called Stonar School. They created a fake LinkedIn ad and when I responded to it, they emailed me asking to set up an interview. The interview itself was through the chat section of Skype. I was told that I had 30 minutes to answer a series of questions regarding my skills and aptitude as an Admissions Manager. I did this, after which several employment specific questions were asked. This whole process took almost an hour. I was told they would have someone in a higher position let me know if I got the job. The next day I was informed that I did get the job and was given a five page contract to sign. Included in this contract was a document that stated they were going to give me around a 9700 stipend to purchase materials for my home office that I would need to perform tasks at this work from home position. The check was overnighted to me but the bank informed me that this was a scam and refused to accept the check. These people are impersonating a real person (Branwen Russell) who works at Stonar School. They are also using the name Rohan Ravindra ("human resources") and John Lewis ("finance.") The check had a real business name printed on it: "Central Plumbing, Heating, and Excavation" which is a real company in Montana. The envelope that the check was sent inside of has a return address of: L & A Sports Training - Tiffany Olmer - 1796 Penn Wood Drive - Tallmadge OH" They wanted me to use this large sum of money to purchase two laptops, Airpods, an Iphone, an Ipad, and a camera. When I informed them that the bank refused the check, they canceled it and told me to use my credit card. They would reimburse me. I am unsure what the next stage of the scam would have been, because I was instructed to have these items sent to my home address.
