Was offered a online data entry job. Sent a 100$ cheque to mobile deposit to purchase equipment and now my bank is overdrawn because the check was returned and can’t get ahold of supposed company! Total fraud!

I answered a facebook post about a work from home opportunity that sounded too good to be true. I researched the company and found little info. The interviews were to be conducted on google hangout only. The woman's Facebook profile was created June 3, 2021 and all "likes" to profile pics were people not local, mostly Nigerian men. I questioned that and the profile disappeared instantly.

They offered me a data entry job - sent me a cheque to deposit it via mobile app. for software program that I'll need ( which I didn't deposit). It sounded like a scam. Apparently, they send you a check and ask you to purchase software and the cheque bounces.

This company seems legit to begin with. There is no physical address and the phone number goes to a test to message. There is no way to speak with a human other than messaging. Also the man said they would send me money to purchase office equipment and software for the job. No only do they ask for your account info but want to know your online log in and password. When I questioned any of this he got very angry and rude. Also the terms document had obvious grammar and spelling errors.
