Told me I was being served for bank fraud. Stems from an old dispute with Fifth Third Bank and was settled 6 years ago.

call saying sent letter 38 days ago, I owe debt over 400.00 to a medical group in another state I had lived in prior to 2009. Had to be paid or 2500.00 would be added when it was filed with my present county of residence's court in another state (not California and not the state I lived in before. I stupidly gave him my debit card number for him to withdraw half of the amount owed not thinking that I moved from that state in 2009 and the debt would have been rolled into bad debt by now. He agreed to split it into two payments; so, he has withdrawn the first one and the next is due out Jan 15, 2017. I have filed a dispute with my bank and am getting a sheriff's dept report from my county of residence. I cannot find this service on the internet and when I call the number given it is answered as smith and warner attorneys. I looked that up and there are MANY reports of scams listed. They are apparently taking more people then me. He offered to send me the letter describing the debt I was paying via email and later called and said he had had to mail it out in USPS as the address I gave him did not work. There was also no recording saying they were taping the message because they were attempting to collect a debt or anything. I should have caught on being an educated woman but he was smooth and I just fell for it.
