I received a phone call from Washington DC, regarding a online payday loan that I took out in 2011. They said the original creditor was Alliance Online, and that if I didn't pay that night they would issue a court summons, or some such legal issue. The thing is in 2011, I wasn't at the address they had for me, nor the bank they have, or email address. I told her to send me a letter in writing proving the debt, she said they couldn't do that, only email it if I requested the info. So I requested the info, and they sent me a letter. In talking with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, they said they should provide me with a physical address, phone number and professional license number. Plus correspondence should have all of this info on it as well as the Fair Crediting Act info, which this email had none of. I then requested this info from them, and haven't heard back. I'm guessing it's a scam, since I never took a payday loan in 2011. My issue is they have info on me that really disturbs me, and called my son looking for me.
