Applied for an "administrative assistant" job on Indeed.com Notified that I was shortlisted for another opportunity, and to email [email protected]. I began a conversation with "Brittany", who was asking the typical questions a potential employer would. Apparently she was a retired 63 year old real estate attorney. Out of nowhere, I receive a check for $2500. I keep it in my office because both my husband and I were skeptical. "Brittany" then notifies me to deposit the check, and when the check is cleared to go to a Bitcoin ATM to start "paying bills" via bitcoin. I am not familiar with Bitcoin, but a good friend of mine is, so I brought this to his attention, who confirmed this was absolutely a scam. Now, I have to go to my bank and let them know of the situation and get everything resolved. I almost fell for it too; it was like almost any other email, as I have been speaking with potential employers via email.
