I posted in Facebook marketplace (which I have many times before) about a bed I was selling. This Bridget brown immediately responded saying that she was moving because of a promotion and her husband wanted the bed. Told it was in great condition and she wanted it. Then she said she needed me to pay the movers since she was not in town. She emailed me a check so I could send to movers. My stupidity and kind heart did and now she is wanting me to continue do so. This is the third request. I told her I could not do anymore and have not heard from her since. Be smarter than me and do your research.

I am selling some furniture on Facebook Marketplace. I was contacted by a potential buyer named Bridget Brown. She/he first said they may be interested and asked about the quality of furniture so I sent additional pictures. Then gave me a story they were being promoted and moving to new house in the area. They said they would send a certified check (not cashiers) and would wait for me to confirm in my account before sending over movers to pick up. Then they wanted to know what bank I used and my email address. At this point they asked if I had any additional furniture to sell. Then they said they would want to send a larger amount and asked if I could also pay the movers. At that point I told them I would prefer to sell local and receive cash. They still tried to ask why and gave another story about that they couldn’t give cash because of their mortgage. I tried asking them for their email address and where they were moving from, etc and did not get a response back. On phone screen it says this user was using messenger without Facebook (logged in using a phone number from United States). They had no Facebook page when clicking on their picture. I have the conversation still saved in Messenger.
