Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
"Brenda Henry" created a profile on the Care.com site seeking a pet sitter for her dog once she moved to my town. She offered to forward an overpayment so that way I could take my first week's fee out but then I'd forward the balance to the dog suppliers so they'd have everything ready.
After I had given my name and address to her private email, she cut and pasted the same email to me at Care.com, clearly not having paid attention to anything I had written her. The misspellings and weird grammar were also blatant.
Care.com must have been tipped off and removed her profile. At that point though, she already had my email and followed up. I told her I had another gig, but she sent the fake check anyway and the followed up again by email. I plan to ignore it and block her.
