FRAUDULENT employment and check.

This person contacted me about a remote job as a data entry representative. The interview was set up through zoom. After the interview she offered a job and stated she would be sending a check for the software to be installed for job. The check came by FedEx. I received the check for $4899.00. She said I was to deposit it in my bank account. My bank said not to deposit it because it looked like a scam. I text maria and told her. She said she sent several other employees the same check and didn’t have any problems. I told her I would take it to a check cashing place but would not go through my bank. She said ok. I took it to the issuing bank on the check instead. The teller told me it was a FRAUDULANT/ Fake check. Sent maria a message but no answer. PLEASE EVERYONE BE AWARE OF THESE SCAMS!
