I listed an item for sale on Facebook Marketplace. The person contacted me as Brandon Foster (probably a fake name--he had a heavy accent). I was selling an item for $1800.00 and he told me I needed to upgrade my zelle account to a business account and I received an email to do this. It instructed me to send 400.00 as a refund as he would be depositing 2200.00 to my account. I did give him my phone number and email. Zelle would not send a payment to him as they had restricted his account so he gave me another email [email protected] (Jene Hofer) and I stupidly sent the $400 to that address via Zelle. He then continued to harass me on the phone about sending another $600 and I finally realized these emails being send from Zelle were fraudulent. I am unset because this person was forceful and harassing me until I blocked his ability to contact me on messenger but he still has my phone number and address.
