I responded to an advertisement on Instagram via Career Builders. It was a job offer as virtual assistant. The individual that contacted me was a Gabriel Alejandro. Mr. Alejandro (or whatever his name is) present the company and talked about how they help individuals. I was told that startup/training will commence on Thursday 5th May, 2022. It was explained to me that the funds required for the first task have been authorized and approved for mailing. I was told the funds will be delivered before startup, and a tracking number will be made available to me before the end of the day(the email was sent Tuesday May 3, 2022 at 12:15 am). I was also instructed to ADD (hrofficenewyork). I was told google chat was how I would be communicating with my supervisor ( who I have no idea who this person was). My supervisor would be the person giving me my daily tasks and checklists. I was provided with the USPS track no. 940585001000000004663. I was instructed to track the envelope and expect its delivery. I was also instructed to follow directions listed below. As soon as you receive envelope kindly follow. 1. Proceed to at bank. 2. Send a SMS to (832)852-3486 or via email to your supervisor with receipt confirming the deposit. 3. ADD (hrofficenewyork)to google chat. Also create at least 1to 2 hour time frame be available to work when funds are available. I started quickly investigating the job opportunity. I actually went on the ScamPulse.com website and started reading over some things and realized this was a potential scam. The funds were delivered to me yesterday in the form of a check made out to me. No I didn’t deposit it. I figured I would hold on to it as proof. The address on the envelope was totally different. This was the address : Deluxe Moving 47 3rd Avenue 2fl New York, NY 10017.
