Boston Terrier Island Reports & Reviews (18)

My beloved Boston Terrier passed away last month. I found the sweetest little puppy on "Boston Terrier Island's" website. The puppy on the site looked so much like my old dog and I was so excited to get him.
Like a lot of the other reviews on here, "James Brown" at [email protected] messaged me that long paragraph, asked for my info, asked which puppy I wanted, etc. I give him the information and ask him if I can use paypal. He says he only accepts Cash App and Zelle. I did some research and saw it's impossible to file a dispute with these apps. I asked again if I could pay through paypal under "goods and services". I LITERALLY told this dude the reason I wanted to use paypal was so my payment would be protected in case he was a scam... and he still sent me his paypal info. I figured I would not get a response if it was a scam after telling him that..
I started getting a weird feeling all of a sudden, so AFTER paying him, I searched "Boston Terrier Island reviews" and stumbled upon this lovely site... wish I would have seen this before I sent my money to those LOWLIFES. Lesson learned. I started a dispute, called Paypal, and emailed "James Brown" telling him I saw all of the horrible reviews. I let him know paypal is waiting for their response on the dispute and even if he doesn't respond I will escalate it and get my money back so he might as well respond. He replies, "ok great". Pathetic. I have to wait a week before I can mark it officially as "item not received", but at that point I can escalate it further to get my money back even if they don't respond to the claim.

I just can't believe this Bozo was dumb enough to send me his paypal info after I literally told him I was going to report him and get it right back if it was a scam. He must just be bored with nothing better to do. He wasted his own dang time. HA!

Don't waste your time or money on this loser. Again... wish I had a brain to find this site before all this mess.

EXACT thing happened to me tonight. I’m so glad I googled it.

I asked for the website and he kept ignoring the question so I put in his email and this popped up.

It’s so sad that people would stoop to this level at a time like this.

I have turned him into my personal fraud protection company and the authorities have been made aware due to personal contacts.

Be careful out there everyone.

Thank you to all who have posted here. I found this website a couple of hours ago. I have searched locally for aBoston Terrier with no luck so I went online. I'm afraid to send money online but was kind of desperate. So I "picked out my dog" and asked questions and sent. While waiting for a reply I googled boston terrier island reviews. I found this website thank god. Photos of the replies I have recieved so far. I am playing along to see what else James has to say.

I literally just went through this minutes ago! I'm so happy I found this site, to verify my gut was right and I wasn't paranoid.

Hes awesome at first, or at least I thought so, but I received the same email above. I tried to send money and it kept getting declined, thank the universe for that. Then he was absolutely adamant, that I "just send the money" and "then get tracking and verification". I asked for any sort of verification, current pics with my name next to the baby, before I sent. He gave me different names for PayPal, everything, and continued to almost bully me into just paying him. Getting any sort of information is pulling teeth, which is a huge red flag. I asked his name 4 times before he gave it. Asked him to send me an invoice through PayPal as protection for both of us, and just started to get more and more demanding. I finally listened to my gut and found this site. I have screenshots as well.

What really breaks my heart is I was looking forward to another baby. And fell right in love seeing him. I feel played. At least I was only out $10, since I am so paranoid. Thank you all for your experiences here. I had my heart set on this.

Glad I checked into this because one of the red flags was the claim that Boston terriers originate from Germany. I’m sorry that people were taken in by this site.

This person was trying to sell me a Boston Terrier puppy. He wanted me to send him money via Cash App then he would ship the puppy from Nevada to Florida. He would not give me any information about his business or about the puppies. He kept insisting that I had to send the payment before anything was guaranteed. He asked me for personal information. How old I was, my occupation nothing pertaining to a dog. The pictures of the puppies didn’t coincide with their age. Some where older and some were puppies. Something seemed off to me.

Scam: Online purchase fraud

Got an email from "James Brown" in Henderson, Nevada after submitting a request for more information about a puppy listed on bostonterrierisland.com. He was very responsive for a few days and then asked for a deposit to reserve the puppy in question, but totally disappeared after I asked him for an updated photo of the puppy with my name on a piece of paper next to it so I could know it was legitimate. Then I found these other testimonials! So glad we never paid him anything, but we were so looking forward to that sweet puppy :(

I sent a message to Boston Terrier Islands regarding my interest in one of the puppies. posted for sale. I filled out a questionnaire on the site. I was contacted via email by James Brown/James Dimitry. I was told to purchase the puppy that I would need to send him 700.00 which was the price of the puppy on the Boston Terrier Island website. I was told to use zelle or cash app. I did so. The cash app name was James Dimitry. Cash app took the payment and then sent it back to me siting “for my protection”. I have only used cash app a few times to sent my kids money and was unfamiliar with the site. I asked James why that happened and he said he had no idea, that had never happened to him before. After going back and forth with James via phone and email, I was asked to send the payment to JohnyTroolz. I sent 700.00 and it went though. I was told he would make the fight arrangements and contact me in the morning. He did contact me in the morning and said everything was set to go. Then I received an email from pet transport saying that the seller’s crate did not meet the new codes for shipping due to Covid 19. I was asked to rent a code approved crate from them for 1550.00. I was told this was a completely refundable payment upon accepting the pet at my home. I contacted the seller James Brown/Dimitry and he asked me to send him 1550.00 and he would bring it to the pet flight service. The payment would not go through to him (James Dimitry) so he asked to send it to JohnyTroolz once again. I did and after a while it was accepted. I spoke to James after the payment was accepted and he stated that he was headed to pay the transportation service and would notify once it was completed. I never heard from him again. The phone number just rings... As does the pet transport service. I was no longer able to reach anyone by phone or email. I filed a police report and I’m waiting to see what they can do. There were several red flags that I did not notice at the time. I feel humiliated and stupid for falling for something that had so many red flags. I have never done a transaction like this before. I tried to contact Cash App, but it seems impossible to file any type of complaint. Anyone have any insight into my situation? Thanks.

He is still at it! Buyers beware. I submitted an inquiry. Seemed like a genuine verification process but then it accelerated way too quickly - wanted name / address and shot off a price without asking if we wanted to come see the puppies (red flag). also noticed that the pics were inconsistent. Thankfully I found this site and saved myself the grief and you will too!

Did you get your money back?

- Fairport, NY, USA

I wanted to purchase a puppy for my husband as a surprise. For a couple weeks I went to different websites. I chose this one because I found a puppy that I fell in love with. I paid money through Venmo. And supposedly the dog got shipped to another state and needed vaccines so I ended up paying for that. When I asked for pictures I wouldn’t get them. I finally heard from western union the since the pandemic there has been a huge spike in pet fraud. I hope I can do something so this does not happen to anyone else

Had a horrible and scary Boston Terrier Island experience. I asked for a FaceTime to see the puppies and to ensure the company is legit. “Owner” James Brown with email [email protected] said he would get to it soon but was busy. He refused for two days to record a video of the dogs or do a FaceTime. After multiple request were ignored or denied to meet my simple and fair request, I let him know I was on to his scam and would report it to the FBI’s internet fraud division. He then stated “ Sounds interesting let’s see how it ends and how you live after that”. Needless to say, I will file the FBI report and will not back down. In short stay away from this company. Red flag, he even states do not drive or pickup the puppy in person. He will ship it to you once you make the payment. Screams fraud.

Received an email from James about Boston Terrier Puppies he had for sale. Once I spoke with him on the phone, he said he needed me to wire money for the puppy from a Western Union. He had provided photos of the dogs. I asked him to send me his website. He did and I could not find anything additional about his supposed breeding company. He sounded suspicious on the phone. Would hate for anyone else to be contacted by this man and lose money. I, thankfully, decided not to send him money.
