Booking.com Imposter Reports & Reviews (1)

- Saint Cloud, MN, USA • Nov 07, 2023

From call to ScamPulse.com public info line: Consumer says they booked a trip on Booking.com, but possible they may have clicked on an imposter site. Says was then contacted by a Booking.com "representative" who informed them they'd provided incorrect birthdates for several travelers. Representative then told the consumer they'd need to go out and buy Apple gift cards (and provide codes off back) to "correct" the issue and be able to travel. Consumer did so, and when "representative" continued to demand more gift cards, consumer continues to provide them. Ended up giving a total of $27,500 in Apple gift card codes to "representative." ScamPulse.com suggested to consumer that they contact FBI's 'Internet Crime Complaint Center' (www.ic3.gov). Said they also have their bank looking into this for them, as they withdrew substantial amounts of money to buy the gift cards.
