I made a reservation for a Marriott hotel online without realizing it was through the third party website, BookOnline.com. I made the reservation at 6:30pm. When I realized I made a mistake, I cancelled the reservation the same day at 6:33pm.

When I called BookOnline.com, they said they would not refund the prepaid amount even though it does not align with the hotel's cancellation policy. I asked if they could at least reinstate the hotel reservation since I already paid for it, and they said no. I asked to speak to a manager, and they just kept putting me on hold. After this experience, I researched the company and realized it is a scam.
