I found a site on Instagram called Boardshoover, which advertised that they have hover boards for sale to be shipped to my location within 48 hours after payment. I contacted the owner of the site and was told that for $200, I could get this merchandise for the holiday. I asked how I pay for the item wanted and was instructed to send the money Western Union to the name Lisa Terry Dallas, TX 75238. I asked that since I am in the Dallas area as well could we meet in person to complete transaction and was told that the money needed to be received first then the product could be shipped or delivered. We could meet for me to get the board but only after the money was received. I, like a fool, sent the money and set up the pick up to require proof of identification. I was then contacted by the seller and asked to set up the money pick up to be completed with a security question instead of identification. I contacted Western Union and asked for the question to be used along with proof of ID. This new change was communicated to the seller and 30 minutes later when I contacted Western Union at 11:51am, I was told that the money was picked up at 11:22am from the Four Seasons Food Mart located at 1901 Marsh Lane in Dallas, TX and that they did not require ID for the pickup of cash. I then attempted to contact the seller in search of my product, but was instead greeted with a block from the seller, no response via email or text, and they had deleted all messages between us. I cannot contact them in any way to ask about my product or my money. I have friends that have contacted this seller and they were given the same instructions as I was to complete the transaction. This communication happened within the hour of me being blocked and scammed. So this person is still very active on Instagram and is taking advantage of other potential buyers. The seller has even offered to come to their home and get the money directly from them. I have contacted Western Union to inquire why they did not follow their own policy of requiring ID for money transfer pickup. They promised there would be an investigation opened on my behalf. I have the tracking number of my transaction from Western Union, but since the company has released my money to this unknown party, I’m not sure if much can be done at this point.
