Just received the Whole Foods, Brian Clooney, CSET American Express scam. I never received anything telling me it was coming, it just arrived. If only it were true!
The SCAMS just keep coming!!

I received a text on 12/21 saying that the secret shopper starter kit had been sent and I just received the USPS Priority Mail Envelope today (12/23) . It contained the same details as the above person mentioned. However, my check was for $1,370.00 from California Credit Union. I called the Credit Union and gave them the check # and amount the check was written for and the representative said that particular check didn’t exist in their system. I have to say, it was pretty clever and had me going there for a minute. The check has all the markings that a regular cashier’s check would including a water mark and a certified sticker. I’m no expert but the check looks legit. Whoever did this, did a really good job. I did some research and found some ways to prove it’s fake.
1.) Paper is too thin (real checks use a thicker paper)
2.) Missing the California Credit Union logo on the sticker
3.) No address under the Pay to the Order of
4.) There are mistakes in the Authorized Signatures name.

As I mentioned, these are just a couple (I’m sure there’s a lot more) ways to tell if the check is legit. I hope this helps.

Just received a USPS Priority Mail Envelope with one sheet of paper with instructions entitled CUSTOMER SERVICE EVALUATION TOOL (CSET) and one check for $1,945.30 drawn on the NAVY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION to be a secret survey evaluator and buy 3-$500 American Express Prepaid Debit cards after depositing the check into my Bank Account. Then I'm to take photos of the back and front of the Debit cards and not tell anyone that I'm a secret evaluator of their service "under no circumstance"... Then name of the Check Remitter (spelled wrong on the check) is Tanisha Solomon and I can't read the signature. The name on the Paper with the WHOLE FOODS LOGO is BRIAN CLOONEY. I've looked up the company name from the Postal Envelope, BLUEPRINT SOFT.INC 1427 CALEDONIA ST. MAYFIELD HEIGHTS OH 44124-6113 and nothing comes up but a Gaming Company in China.

I just received a check in the mail for the same type of assignment. How do I know if it's a legit cashiers check that's written on US Bank?

You can call the bank its from and have them verify its authenticity. Ive gotten a few scam checks like this recently and I wasnt about to deposit a possible fraudulent check into my account without talking to the bank it came from...and Im so glad I called those banks because the checks couldnt be verifyied! Dont trust strangers who tell you to cash checks then buy prepaid debit cards and send them pics of the cards...its always going to be a scam!

I am a walmart reviewer.

They contact me as a wholefoods market,that are looking for secret shoppers to visit stores and do some assignments. At the beginning I believed it, and it made sense for me because the mentioned that they work woh Walmart and bestbuy as well.so I registered with them through their website.

After about two weeks I received a message that my first assignment’s package is on the way, and when I received the attached paper along with the check it was obvious for me that it is a scam.
