I saw Bluegrass Power Washing- in Brooksville, Kentucky advertised on Facebook. I emailed them as I needed one end of my garage power washed. I gave them my phone number and they called and set up a time to come out and see the job- 'Justin' came out and said he'd do the job for $100. Said he'd be back on Thursday (June 17th) He came out and I had taken two fifty dollar bills from my envelope I'd just gotten from the bank. (10 fifties were in the envelope) My granddaughter was here, visiting me, so I told him I'd pay him up front & I placed two fifty dollar bills in his hand- he stuck them in his pocket, and went on to do the job. When we had talked, two days earlier, I had told him that my husband had just died 5 months ago. I had told him I was 80 years old. He did the job and then came back to the front door- telling me that I had accidentally given him two FIVE DOLLAR BILLS instead of two FIFTIES. He had two wrinkled five dollar bills in his hand. I told him I couldn't have given him fives- since I didn't HAVE any fives. The fifties I had handed him were newer & clean- folded over once- the 50s were clear. He insisted that I'd given him fives instead of 50s (which was impossible) and I am very mentally capable & do not make mistakes like that... I gave him another two fifties and I then had 6, 50s left in my envelope. I had just hoped he would find the fifties and realize he'd made a mistake and return them to me. I had been scammed.
