My mother was interested in buying a Ragdoll Kitten so she researched breeders. She found a website for Ragdoll kittens claiming to be a Cattery - Blue Eyed Pals - blueeyedpals.com. She emailed and was quickly answered by a man named Dean Johnson. He stated he had a cat named Kiki available and he could ship her using Dreamline Carriers. My mom was trepidatious about the cost and uncertain about ordering online, so she asked him if she could give a deposit and the rest upon receipt of cat. He said that was fine and she sent him $500.00 via Zelle. He then contact her saying he needed the additional $400.00 to be able to ship the animal. She sent him the money and he gave her a tracking number with a company called Dreamline Carriers (their email is [email protected]). The site for Dreamline Carriers did show tracking information, but had no clear information. He gave us a number to Deamline Carriers (916-546-8156). Upon calling that number, we found it to be a Google voice number. We called that number and were called back by a gentleman stating he would give us the information about the package, before we had given him the tracking number or our names. We gave him the tracking number. He told us the kitten would arrive by 3pm and was in South Carolina. We had previously been told the kitten would be flown to Florida. We continued to try to contact Dean and Dreamline Carriers. Neither answered. We then found people on Facebook who had gone through the same issues. I took screenshots of the Facebook posts and sent to "Dean." I received a call from a gentleman who sounds suspiciously like the person I spoke to at Dreamline Carriers. He insisted he was not a scammer and we should believe him over FB posts. After conversations back and forth, he texted us saying he would send the money back, which has yet to happen.
