I don't know that this was a scam...but we came away from it feeling very unsure of it. As we were driving away from our home this morning a gentleman, 25-30 years old, honks at us and jumps out of his truck. He said his name was James and they had just finished an asphalt job in our area and they had some left over if we would like to have the cracks in our asphalt taken care of. We said we were just leaving but asked for his business card. He said he didn't have any with him because the pocket he keeps his phone in caused his phone to break and he must have lost his cards. He said he didn't have a website or email, but that he would stop back next year and check with us....or we could call him. 509-290-7746, I believe. There were no markings on his truck or the green trailer behind him (carrying the asphalt.) He said his business is on the south hill in Spokane, which would be 25 - 30 miles away. When we asked for references of work recently done - he said Pizza Hut, which he wasn't sure but might be on Northwest Blvd., in Spokane, and another pizza shop 25 miles from us.
