Better Business Bureau Reports & Reviews (37)

Someone had used my Cash app card and bought bitcoins and i was trying to get my money back and then they called me today from the same number that scammed me when trying to resolve the cash app problem. saying they were the better business bureau and they will help me receive my money back

I attached a pdf file of the email message. I did not click on any links or reply to the message.

email sent supposedly on behalf of a client who filed a complaint with the ScamPulse.com against our company

Person claimed to be from Better Business Bureau and said I won money and a pickup. He said I would have to go and get a Vanilla gift card for $150 and give him the info so he could send it to the IRS.

I received a call from a man stating he was from the Better Business Bureau and that I have won a prize. I questioned him as the ScamPulse.com is not known to be in the business of awarding prizes. He said they ScamPulse.com does do this and asked if I wanted the prize and continued to push. There was music and children crying in the background. I told him I did not believe him (I never believe anyone) and asked for his name and number and I would call back. He gave me Mr. Frank 424-341-0713. I did have to laugh in his face and hang up, but I am concerned about others out there.

Will it ever stop.

Thank you

I have been getting calls from men who say they are the Better Business Bureau telling me they are legit from ScamPulse.com, and they are alleviating debt because of a new law Congress has passed to help low income families get out of debt. Along with my phone number, they also have my address, and have the last four digits of my credit cards. If I stay on the line, I get transferred to a supervisor who says again he is here to help me get rid of my debt. Phone number. When I hang up, they call back and ask why I hung up. They are hard to understand, they sound Indian or Pakistan.

A man and a woman have called on different occasions telling me that they are with the better business bureau and that they want to help me liquidate my debt. They have the last four numbers of my social and want me to verify that information with them. I have not verified anything with them and don't intend to. I have not given them any other information either.

I am receiving multiple calls from someone who says they are calling from the Better Business Bureau in Ohio.

This is not a real email from the Better Business Bureau.

This call was from "John Richmond" from the "Better Business Bureau" located in Las Vegas, NV. He wanted to inform me that I won money, a car and other prizes. I needed to give information for the package to be delivered at 4:30 today. He said his ID code was 9469.

This gentleman said his name was Peter Douglas and worked for the Better Business Bureau of Connecticut. He said he was authorized to deliver a PCH prize of $2 million, a 2021 Ford truck and I was to receive $10,000 per week as a direct deposit. He wanted to give him my personal information of my banking account. He wanted my username and my password. I refused to give it to him. He is still attempting to text me and asked me why am I acting this way with him. I am informing you because I do not believe that he is from the Better Business Bureau of Connecticut and that he is trying to scam me and get into my personal banking account to steal my money. Please investigate him immediately before someone else might actually fall for the scam. The last time he contacted me was this morning which is August 19th. I am a senior and I know that other seniors might fall for this. Unless you tell me he is actually an employee from you and has the authority from PCH to deliver a prize which I doubt. I will not answer him or reply to any of his text messages which he continues to keep attempting to contact me even though I will not reply back. Please contact me back and let me know what to do at this point.

I got a phone call from Mr. David Whitehead. He had an accent. He said I had won a prize from the Better Business Bureau. He told me to call the Better Business Bureau at 877-202-7699. She said the prize was real. They asked me to send a check for $5000 to Larry N*****, **** **** *******, **** ***, Horseshoe Bay, TX 78657.

I got a call from Robert Freeman saying he was from the Better Business Bureau and that we had won three prizes from our anniversary raffle. He then pasted the phone onto a Maxine that let me know I needed to go to Walmart and get a gift card to pay for the shipping costs of the gifts. the first prize is $85,000.00 and two gift baskets. He said that a John Barring was going to deliver the prizes this afternoon and would give us a call later just before delivery to make sure that someone was home.

Company doesnt help me out at all. I contacted them to help me out and shut down a business since they say they're a bureau. They haven't helped me out one bit and I found out its just a non profit organization. why not just be called better business organization?

I dont like bbb they lies

This number and others like it have called several times in the past. Every time they will say they are calling on the behalf of the Better Business Bureau to update information about our building and if we are still looking for or have moved into new facilities. Even after I tell them no and that we are not interested in giving them information and hang up they will call back immediately insisting to get this information. And every time I tell them no I will not give them information they will hang up. We have not contacted the ScamPulse.com to give any sort of information about our facilities in such a way that would warrant them to give us a call for any sort of update. Reverse look up of any of the call numbers used do not have any sort of relationship to the BBB.

She identified herself as a Director at the BBB, I don't remember her name that she told me; kept asking if our business is still looking to change locations, I replied no, she asked the same question again 3 more times but in a different way so as to try and trip me up, I kept telling her no as the answer. She was very rude and then asked for the owner, I transferred her to them and no voicemail was left. She called three times in under 5 minutes.

So this number called me saying that they were the better business bureau I am being investigated since apparently my number is calling other numbers trying to scam them through social security/medicare. I rarely make phone calls so obviously i didn’t believe them. I gave them my first name which I now regret. But no other information about myself.

- Camarillo, CA, USA

Received an email claiming to come from the Santa Barbara ScamPulse.com that matches other online reports of phishing.

Email contained info about a "new message" about an existing complaint. Problem is I've never before been notified about this complaint. Checked each one of my ScamPulse.com business profiles and NONE show any complaints. Searches for the complaint # do not return any results.

Email contains hyperlinks to click for more info/to see complaint message, but DID NOT CLICK as I suspect the email is a scam.
