- Bryans Road, MD, USA

I was contacted for an interview offer for a Data Entry position via gmail by Elizabeth Reals. She asked me to use RingCentral to conduct the interview and it was through text messages. Once it finished, I got the position the next day and signed the typical job offer papers. I was then given an assignment on administrative mistakes and submitted it within a 2-hour timeframe. Elizabeth told me she received it and would get back to me shortly. Later that day she told me for completing the assignment I'd be given an award: an $100 bonus to my "startup" paycheck. She told me it'd be used for my home office and from then on, I knew this was going to be a scam as I've seen this way too often. But because of how the process was going I was hoping I was wrong since it was going relatively normal. She said she'd send the check electronically through email the next morning, so I did some research before then. I saw that Abzyme Therapeutics LLC was in fact real, but they had no open hiring positions listed anywhere on the internet and had no reviews from employees either. I checked their LinkedIn and they only had 6 employees (3 of which being the founders of the company...) and yet no sign of the Elizabeth Reals person anywhere. I'd understand if you wanted to keep a low profile, but you are apart of a company, and you'd need to have that stated on a public site. I already had other jobs I interviewed for and was considering during this whole scam ordeal, so I wasn't too upset if this ended up being fake. The next morning rolled around and she sent the check around 9am and low and behold it's fake! I took a look at it and the location of the check was from Panama City, Florida, but the company is in Pennsylvania... like okay? You couldn't have been more obvious. The check was also overwhelming: asking for $4,399 to be exact which is alot for a paycheck.. I pointed out the check was from Florida and Elizabeth responded that it's because they have a conglomerate there that's apart of the company (they don't I checked). She also told me to deposit it through my mobile bank account so I wouldn't have to go to the bank to do it because the bank teller would have outed her. So, I left her on read and came here to report.
