My husband and I were looking to buy a mini schnauzer puppy, and I was doing research online to try to find some that were local. This website was one of the first to pop up, and I looked around. They seemed fishy, but I thought I'd shoot them an email to find out some more information. They seemed to check out and know their facts, but my husband wasn't convinced. He started doing his own research, and found that this was a scam, where the scammer tries to get you to send them money through an untracked way (i.e. moneygram) with cash. The pictures of the puppies are fake and can be found on other websites. Luckily my husband caught it, or we would have lost $600.

This website advertised miniature Schnauzer puppies for sale at a discounted price of 50%. I chose a puppy named Lola, who was supposedly 10 weeks old. The seller claimed she was very sweet and enjoyed playing with toys. He also inquired if I had experience with Schnauzers before. I replied I had, 2 wonderful companions within the last 20 years, one of which passed away a few weeks ago due to Lymphoma. He replied he was glad to hear that and wanted the puppies raised in a good home. He also requested that I send pictures of Lola while she's growing up and let him know how she's doing. I assured him I would. He emailed instructions of how to pay for Lola, to send money to a different email address (than his) through PayPal, which I did the following day. After a couple of days, I emailed him, inquiring if he had received the funds. He answered he had. The original arrangement was to have Lola flown from Washington DC to Denver, Colorado, to arrive on Sunday, November 26, 2017. I phoned and reached "Jerry" Sunday morning at 9:00 am to ask what time I should be expecting Lola to arrive in Colorado. He told me he was getting her ready and would be driving her to the airport in a couple of minutes. There was no communication with Jerry at 1:00 pm, so I phoned him again. This time, no answer, so I left a message. By 3:30 in the afternoon, I realized I had been "puppy scammed". I sent a last email to Jerry, letting him know I now realized I had been scammed and he must be LOL. I truly thought this was a genuine couple "Jerry and Jolee" who were really looking for good homes for their puppies. Especially since their address and phone number were at the bottom of the first email I received from them. I should have known, as there was no last name, nor did I contact by phone until after the money was sent. I have since filed a complaint with PayPal to get a refund, and will follow up with my local law enforcement in the next day or two. Their website was offline for a few days, but is now (recently as Friday) back up again, this time, the very same puppies, including Lola are now on sale for Christmas at the discounted price of $400.00 each.
