While searching for pet adoptions on Craigslist, I was contacted by an unknown phone number via text message, offering kittens for sale for $300 each. The scammer provided a web link to bestkittenkennel.com, which showed Bengal and Ragdoll breed cats at market prices ($650-700), but told me via text I could purchase kittens for cheap if I sent $150 via Cashapp and provided my mailing address, to which they would deliver the kitten. I asked for standard information from kennel owners—medical records for the cat in question, photographs, information about the cat and its parents—which the scammer dodged. I concluded that this is not a legitimate business and is, in fact, a scam.
