The job was posted on an website called Ohio Means Jobs which is operated through Monster Jobs. If you are receiving unemployment benefits you get registered with this program. To apply, the job post said send your resume to [email protected]. I sent my resume' and an Gregory Cook replied back really quickly that my resume' had been approved for the job. He gave me further directions to download google hangouts and add the hiring manager Andrew Carter as an contact. I did this as well and contacted Andrew Carter through google hangouts, where we supposedly had the interview. He asked for my full name, address, phone number, banking institution, and email. After our online chat interview, I noticed his words were misspelled and the way he demanded me to submit back the hiring packet he had sent me via email. He wanted it as quickly as possible, the job offer letter had misspellings and did not look right. I told him I was no longer interested so he sends an check through the mail and says the company will give me $250.00 sign on bonus but the check amount was $3748.75. I told him that I didn't think this job was legit and he kept trying to assure me it was. I then shredded the check and instruction letter. I also blocked him from google hangouts. He sent another email saying send him a response because I have the company's check in my possession and i then reported his email as spam and phishing. I am a military veteran who served my country on Active Duty for 8 years and still serving in the reserves. I am looking for employment and it's sad that these frauds are out here trying to take advantage and get your information. I hope something can be done.
