The person(s) run a British Bull Terrier puppy adoption business via Facebook (They have also been notified). When I contacted the business, I got in touch with an individual who went by the name Anthony Santana. He sent me photos of 4 different puppies that were available. I chose one, and he said the puppy would cost $700.00 with a $300 deposit. Everything seemed legitimate so I paid them via an application called Zelle.

After the deposit was made, Anthony told me he would complete the transfer of ownership after I made the full payment. I asked if we could take care of all the documentation on the day of puppy pickup and the payment paid in full. He replied that he had to have the entire $700.00 before I came to get the puppy.

I told him I did not feel comfortable doing that. He sent me his home address as to entice me, but after researching it on Google, the residents living there did not match his alias.

After trying to work things out with him for hours to no prevail, I finally asked him for a refund. He got very defensive and informed me that he was not going to refund me my money.

I was looking for a bull terrier puppy and found this particular one on Facebook. He was able to provide me with information about the mom and dad, sent me pictures of the dog with my information next to the puppy, and then said he had an Apple Pay. He was aware that a “fraud suspected” message would pop up and told us to ignore it. When I looked up information about that, there was instances of an update that labeled everything as fraud, so I very stupidly agreed to send the money. The next day I got shipping notifications texted to me and to my email, then was told I needed to pay another crate fee. The breeder and I worked out a deal so I covered a smaller portion of the fee. Now I’m being contacted by the shipping company for an additional fee to release the dog from the air port, which according to the airport management doesn’t exist. Also while filling out this form, I’ve come to realize that some “management” with the shipping company that reached out to me is the same number that is listed on the puppy website.
