I was looking for a moving company to move a small portion of my belongings and spoke to a Blake Stephens from Belmont. Automatically he started throwing out deals and discounts and overall, I signed a contract saying I would pay $2393.63 for my move and inventory for the move. First, I was upcharged $500 the day before for an “upgraded inventory” when literally nothing had changed. Blake didn’t write down the correct inventory and I was told my washer and dryer were not accounted for. Then, after paying the $500 so I could move my washer and dryer, the movers show up and we unaware of the “change in inventory” (once again, there was no change, Blake just didn’t write down the washer and dryer). They then told me it was going to be over $8000 to move my belongings AFTER I HAD ALREADY SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR MY INVENTORY. They made it seem like I had way more than I claimed and I even informed them that I wasn’t even told a 3rd party company would be coming. So now am I not only dealing with Belmont (who didn’t even do the moving) but also Western Van Lines who claimed they “didn’t have the truck space” for my inventory. I called to complain, no one answered. I tried calling Blake (to this day, he still won’t return my phone calls). No one answered!!! This is when I knew it was a scam. The Western Van Lines talked with THEIR boss (NOT BELMONT) and was able to load my things up for delivery. I was VERY unhappy. Once my things arrived in Texas, I noticed screws missing, dents, damage to cabinets and drawers and they REFUSE to even talk to me or compensate me for all this frustration! They claim they “provided all the information upfront” but OBVIOUSLY things were left out or I wouldn’t be having an issue or even thinking I was scammed! Overall, I paid $5000+ for a $3000 total move!!! Total scam; they won’t refund because they claim that I was “told the information” which is far from the truth. I will NEVER use this company and I suggest this company be investigated for over charging AFTER a binding contract was signed!!!
