While online, I was asked to fill out a survey for Shaw Cable on their services. I thought it was odd that it really did not ask that many questions or ask for detail about Shaw Cable. On answering the couple of questions, a screen popped up offering as a gift for filling out the survey, I could choose one of a couple of offers. The one that I picked was a beauty product Stemologica cream. I would receive this beauty product and all I had to pay for was shipping. I agreed to the $5.95 for shipping and entered my Mastercard number. Something else popped up saying to try their other product Beautemer. I didn't check anything on that but noticed when I closed out of there that I received two emails back from them, one that I had been charged $5.95 and one for $5.99. I wasn't that upset as it wasn't that much extra. I received both products about a week later along with an email saying that I had an account with them and a password. I went to look and notice there was a subscription tab that was already filled out with a check beside ship more product monthly at $189/month. I quickly checked the no subscription option and then emailed them to tell them not to ship me anything else as I only got this as it was a "pay only shipping cost" offer. They responded that I didn't have a subscription offer but as I was still within my 14-day "trial", they would extend the 14-day trial and offered me both products for $39.95 each. I replied and said no I don't want anything more to do with it and do not charge my credit card. They responded by email again and said I could keep both products for $9.99 each and to let them know what I wanted to do. Not even 2 days later they took 2 payments of $189 each from my Mastercard.
