I received an email what looked like it was from a friend asking if I could do them a favor. I respond with what do you need. Scammer said he was in a meeting and needed me to send his niece a birthday gift of an amazon gift card and he was out of reach and he would pay me this weekend. I bought a $200 gift card and sent to supposedly to his niece at [email protected] (Val Williams). I stupidly sent it, as my friend does travel alot for business. After I sent the gift card, it didn't sit well with me, so I called my friend (which I should of done before I did anything). He said he it was a scam and his email was hacked. Hope the ScamPulse.com can track either one of the scammers and save someone else for getting scammed. I tried to stop gift card, with credit card, which I will file a dispute on charge and notified amazon fraud protection who is investagating the incident.
