I was called on a Saturday by Microsoft claiming I had viruses on my computer and needed it fixed right away. The tech will do this with a lifetime protection warranty for 249.99. This would be purchased by me and the warranty would be through Barewire in the UK. This took calls and the entire day to "fix". When it was finally done I tried to use my card to pay for it. Wouldn't go through and had to use a check. After many attempts they finally cashed it. They called several times later to see if the computer was running fine. I said yes. A few days ago they called to say my IP address was being stolen and that I needed to buy this software to fix this and prevent it from happening again. They showed me on the screen that the people involved were 5 minutes from my house. They said it would cost almost 4 hundred dollars to buy the equipment to block this at Walmart and they would put the software on for 5 hundred dollars. I said no I don't have it and they said 250.00 and I said no. I told them this should have been included in the original price they said no this is software. I told them I could only do 150.00 and they said ok. They kept calling all night long to get the card number. I started to get suspicious and looked them up for scams on Google and there they were. I called them the next day to speak to a supervisor and he said the 30 days was up and I would never get any of my money back. Very rude. I emailed them twice and no response. It clearly states at the bottom of their invoice"At Barewire we are always fair and will work with you to make sure you are a satisfied customer regardless of the 30 day guarantee". Called bank and they refused to help me get my money back. My free advice is to never use this company as my internet company said they can implant the viruses etc. on your computer once they control it. Buyer Beware and stay away from this scam as you will be ripped off like me. Not right! How can they sleep at night? I did cancel the plan and am glad I did. Stay away or you will be sorry as they prey on the elderly and people with limited computer skills!

Claims that your computer is infected with a virus. They said they will clean it and a malware Anticirus program. It will only cost 349.00 for three yrs. andmore for more yrs. Once you agree they will get into your computer. charge that amount to your credit card. Then call you they made a mistake and want to refund your amount and then they get your acct. and empty it out. Beware. If they can do it they will harass you every day with calls. I was lucky and called my bank before it was empty.
