Similar to the story above. Jessica Diaz from Bachmann Asset Recovery called from an unknown number and left a message stating that she had an urgent message and that I had documents being processed through their office. I was in a meeting when she called so she proceeded to call my son and my ex-husband and left the same message. I called back with a reference number and spoke with Justin who informed me that I owed HSBC Best Buy from 2007. 16 years ago! He immediately began making threats that they were going to put a lien on my car among other things. He had all of my personal information including my full social security number. I asked him to send me something in writing and I received the same type of document in the photo posted by izabellazmommy626 from [email protected]. The company doesn't appear to have a website and I was unable to find any evidence of them being legitimate.

06/28/2023 8:30am Thursday Received call from an unknown number then my wife received a phone call on her cellphone from this Amanda Myers claiming she is with litigations and wanted to speak to me so I got on the phone and she said that I was being summons tomorrow and wanted to know if my address was correct I asked her what this was in regards to and she said she couldn't tell me but gave me a case number and phone number to contact and that the number sounded like the same exact lady she said that this was for an overdraft account from Wachovia which is now wells fargo and that they are going after me for $3,497.73, they also sent to my current address which was never the address that was on the Wachovia bank account and that they would do a wage garnishment of 24% till the whole amount was paid in full I advised her I am not currently working and that there is no way I could pay that amount she then said well you are married and I see you have income of your wife that we would go after and we would also put a lien on your property. I asked for away to try and settle this she said she would need to see if this has been sent to a server already if it has they couldn't do anything but then she put me on hold and came back and said that she can stop the summons and I would have to pay a settlement of $2,094.00 and that there would be three papers she will be sending to my email (the one that I have attached) I would have to sign pay and then she will send a receipt of payment that I would need to sign and then last would be the paper stating that this matter has been settled and they will close this matter that I would need to sign and send back to them. she gave me till 1pm central standard time today to let her know what I would like to do either pay using credit card or cashiers check. I personally went to Wells Fargo and spoke with a branch manager there and she said this looks a lot like scam because one a settlement would not be of a flat amount it normally comes in cents like $2094.37 or something and she said the Wachovia bank account number is not correct that the number usually starts with 1000 not start with 3000 so she advised me not to send any money and that Wachovia was so long ago like 18 years ago this account happened and I was a minor and this should no longer be able to go after.
