- Fresno, CA, USA

Purchased a set of wheels and tires from an individual in Houston TX. We agreed upon $1000 shipped to CA. I made payment for the wheels and tires on 3/25 via Apple Pay. On 3/26, he sent me confirmation and tracking info with a link to the website where to track the shipment and informed me that the shipper would be in contact to verify shipping info. The shipper (Auotlogistify) contacted me via email to verify my shipping info and phone number which was correct and I confirmed. A short time later, the shipper sent me an email stating that I needed to pay a deposit of $350 for an insurance certificate and that the money was refunded upon delivery of my goods. I figured even if I was out the $350 for shipping, I got a good deal on the wheels and tires and $350 wasn’t a bad price to ship from TX to CA (even though the person I bought the wheels from stated the price we agreed upon was the price shipped). I paid via Apple Pay and they sent me a confirmation of payment with a notice stating I needed to pay an additional $700 (also refundable) for state tax and customs fees. I questioned this charge as Customs should not have been involved since product was not crossing into or out of another country and they claimed it was state to state/city to city. I pushed back several times trying to get documentation stating this was necessary and told them that I felt I was being scammed. They would never provide any info and would only tell me that it’s not a scam and that I needed to make the payment immediately. I continued to push back to where they have now ghosted me and my shipment shows as pending. I have no idea where the product is located and at the current moment I’m out $1350. I am working with the person I bought the wheels and tires from as he stated he’s worked with this shipper for quite a while and never had an issue. He also stated that he spoke with a manager for AutoLogistify and that the manager stated they had been hacked and had issues with payments hence why they used Apple Pay (along with Zelle, CashApp, Chime, etc…). I have asked for him to have this manager get in touch with me but it has not happened. I have asked him for my money back for the wheels but he stated that it will be too costly to get them back and that he will work to make sure I receive them. At this point, I want the shipper to either give me my $350 back or get my product to me but they also need to be held accountable for the scam/shady business they are conducting.
