They sent me a check to wrap my car in Frito lay decal 3,500 in which I was to deposit till cleared then send 2600 to the installer and keep 900 as payment for the wrap

Good morning, I wanted to inform you of what I consider a scam, I applied to do wrapping advertising with my car, I was to receive weekly payments of $600.00 for it.  I was sent a priority mail envelope with a return address of New Jersey, in it a letter giving me instructions, an email and telephone number to contact them. Also, in the envelope was a check for $1,950.00 from The Harvey School in Katonah, NY with a PCSB Bank ($600.00 for me the balance for the wrapping company). I tried calling the number on the letter but no answer, they would text me with the number but not pick up. I have attached evidence of the envelope, letter, check and his texts. I took time to find out about the check. I even called the bank at 877-450-7272 using option #8, they asked for the account number and check amount and were told that the check would clear, it was an automatic response. Once the check was deposited, I was to contact them to get the car wrapped and pay them. But I deposit the check to see if it would clear first, meanwhile I would get text everyday if the check was deposited. I then checked everyday funds in the account after a week passed. I checked yesterday 8/8/2023 and funds are gone. I had that feeling not to let them know that I had the check deposit, until it was clear. I do not know how they are doing this but I am sure some people lost their money with these scammers. Hopefully you can catch them before they continue.

I got a text from this company asking if I was interested in a car wrap. I texted back yes. They sent letter with a check for $2980.40. I was to text them to the number that I've provided when I deposited it.

info on envelope : Tom E.****** * ************, first speeding printing **** **** *** *********** ** ***** sent check for $4500.00 for me to wrap my car with advertising.
