Just got scammed. Same story Michael Curtis Marine in Kuwait. $10,000. Lots of photo's of the car. VIN checked out and the web site even shows shipping movement but stopped in Kansas City. Why are the classic car webs not watching this or giving us more notice.

Same experience with someone named Michael Curtis who cames he is a Marine in, you guessed it Kuwait. I asked all the same question and got the same response. Asked for VIN # and learned the truck was valued at $32000 and sold at Mecum. Also he tried to send me the same paragraph from the website. Did not fall for the scam. Google Automachinery.
The BS website is Automachinery ship.com.

They have a phone # listed as US 603-835-3463 or non US 1-603-835-3463. Notice the number is the same.

Money was wired into an acc held in the name of automachineryexpress.com. In 1201 ne 163 rd. st north Miami beach FL 33162

I fell for the Marine in Kuwait scam mentioned above. I had my bank confirm that Auto Machinery Express was a real company, wired the money to the escrow, got a fed reference number and was able to track the car to Reno. It now appears the company does not exist. The website is gone and the phone number goes unanswered. My bank has alerted the fraud department but there is probably nothing that can be done. Heart breaking.

I sent an email to a seller of a classic car. The seller responded a few weeks later saying they were sorry for the late response but that they were deployed in Kuwait. The car was well below the market value and was supposedly with a shipping company called Auto Machinery Express in Germantown, WI. They said Auto Machinery would handle the shipping and escrow and he would even pay for the shipping both ways if the car was not to our liking. When you call the shipping company, they are very unprofessional. I inquired about having a 3rd party inspection done and they said I needed to send an email to request that. So I did and never received a response. I even called local business (across the street) and they didn’t see any business by that name. Be very careful!!! When I called the phone number on the website, it is actually a different company name (that I dont believe is even connected in any way).
